About Us

Dr. Alan G. Toler, O.D., FCOVD is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, 1988 and an alumnus of Virginia Military Institute. Awarded Young Optometrist of the Year (1994) for Virginia, he continues to serve as a member of local, state, national optometric associations, and the Optometric Extension Program, and a Fellow in the Virginia Academy of Optometry, College of Optometrists in Visual Development and Board Certified in Vision Therapy. In addition to managing his practice, Dr. Toler retired as Lt. Colonel after serving 23 years in the United States Army Reserve.

 Terrie Call, C.P.O.A. is Dr. Toler's Optometric Assistant (Westover Hills Vision Center Building.) Terrie's forty years of service with Dr. Greg and Dr. Alan is impressive. Her career accomplishments include Virginia Optometric Assistant of the Year, 1989 and Para Optometric of the South, 1999. Terri is dedicated to providing the best customer service to everyone she meets.  

 Mal Funai oversees Patient Services (Westover Hills Vision Center Building.) Mal began her career with Drs. Toler in 1993. In August of 2014, Mal will celebrate her 21 years of service. After her work day is complete, May enjoys spending time with her animals, enjoys the outdoors, and sings on the Praise team at her church. Mal also holds a black belt in Taekwon Do.
