"In 1957, I graduated from The Pennsylvania State College of Optometry. I served three years in the Air Force where I met my wife of 53 years - Mabel. The last 53 years I worked in private practice. I worked solo for 27 years, and then was joined by my oldest child Dr. Alan Toler in a partnership for 26 years. Three years ago, I sold my part of the practice to him and for the last three years, I practiced as an employee - doing mostly what I originally wanted to do...see patients. I feel good that my son, Dr. Alan Toler and I practiced together for many years and we have shared patients resulting in a situation where you were our patients, will now be seeing him not as a stranger but as the other Dr. Toler. I will be thinking of many of you and generations of your family and the years / decades you have been patients. I also thank the office staff for their dedication and commitment, Terri for 40 years, Mal 20 years, Lorraine 6.5 years, Aisha 4.5 years and Lori 4 years." Dr. Greg announced his retirement in Vol. 33 Issue 2 Newsletter
